Welcome to HSMUN 2013!

Everybody should be back into the swing of school by now and looking forward to a weekend of debate coming up this February! I hope that you are as excited as I am for this upcoming conference and are starting to prepare. I will be your director for the debate and will be posting helpful tips and links throughout the next few months for you!

There are many aspects to every debate and today I will be focusing your attention on how conflict in Iraq will impact civilians in the area. Not only will potential conflict impact civilians, but the type of conflict and warfare will greatly affect the civilian population. Will conflict focus on military bases, will conflict impact health centres, drinking water and what will happen to civilian refugees? The United Nations World Health Organization created a briefing paper outlining some of these issues which you can access here.

That’s all I have for you at the moment and I hope your research is going well!
